I have over 55 piano students in beginner to high intermediate levels. I am classically trained and an experienced teacher, having taught piano lessons full time since 2005, first at Brindley's Music Center for 10 years and currently teach at the new San Marcos Music Academy in Chandler. Before teaching full time, I taught part-time for over 20 years. I hold two piano recitals per year at My First Piano in Mesa. I teach traditional note reading methods, exposing students to classical standards, jazz and blues, gospel & spiritual, favorites, popular, folk music, TV and movie themed music etc. I am very patient and a gentle in my teaching manner, but maintain a standard of high commitment with my students where they know they must practice daily in order to learn and to advance. I also reward my students for each 100 hours of practice as well as memorized pieces that I record weekly. Most of my students stay with me beyond 5 years and several of my students have committed in applying for music scholarships for college. I am also a substitute organist for my church and occasionally play piano solos during the year for church services.
