Claire Gordon

Claire Gordon graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education in 1983. She taught strings in the Washington Elementary School District for 15 years. Claire is the musical director of the West Valley Youth Orchestra. She has conducted honor orchestras in the Peoria, Scottsdale, Washington and Phoenix Union School Districts, as well as Arizona Elementary and Middle School All-State Orchestras. Claire played Principal Second Violin in the West Valley Symphony for many years, and is an active free-lance violinist throughout the valley. She is also a church pianist and enjoys accompanying other instrumentalists. Claire is a past president of the Arizona chapter of the American String Teacher's Association. She teaches Suzuki violin and viola, and traditional piano, and encourages her students to participate in the Arizona Study Program.
