
Liz G. Owens has over 25 years experience as a private piano instructor. As a teenager, she studied piano with Virgiana Willard then continued her music studies at BYU, receiving her B.A. in 1983. She currently maintains a private piano studio in the Northeast Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Liz has been an accompanist and choir director for many years and enjoys conducting for the Phoenix Piano Ensemble. She has been actively involved in many music organizations including MTNA, ASMTA, and NFMC and is a past President of Phoenix Music Teachers Association. She has served on the State board of ASMTA as Vice-President of Publications and Editor of the MusiGram. Mrs. Owens and her students have participated & performed in Master Classes with the following renowned musicians: Dennis Alexander, master pedagogue and composer; Paul Pollei, master pedagogue and founder of the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition; Christopher O'Reilly, host of the PBS award winning "From the Top" series & Official Steinway Artist; Dr. Robert Hamilton, Professor of Piano at ASU & Official Steinway Artist; Robert Vandall, master pedagogue and composer. Liz proudly declares that she has studied from the best teachers in the nation – her students!
